Staff Psychologist / Social Worker / Counselor

Connecticut College Student Counseling Services (SCS) is pleased to announce a full-time (37.5 hours), academic year (42 weeks) Psychologist/Social Work position. Position duties include consultative, clinical, crisis and outreach services to the student campus community. The position requires psychological diagnosis and treatment of student patients and will provide clinical supervision/training for the training program (practicum students).  In addition to having a general expert knowledge of mental health and psychological functioning, the ideal candidate will have experience with and proficiency in addressing issues and aspects of identity within the context of psychotherapy.  The Counselor will report directly to the Director of Student Counseling and Health Services.

The Counselor must have completed (preferably) an APA-approved doctoral degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and an APA-approved internship; or have an MSW or Ph.D. in Social Work, with an internship. A CT license in the candidate's discipline is required.  Experience working in a college counseling setting or with emerging adults is strongly preferred. Excellent professional, interpersonal, communication (both oral and written), and evidence-based counseling skills are required. Expertise in clinical treatment of neurodivergence, trauma, supervision, and/or other college mental health issues are beneficial. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in one of the above mentioned focus areas and have an investment in developing further clinical expertise.
