Minimum Requirements

*This position is a limited term position*

Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology.  Must meet educational requirements to be a licensed psychologist in the State of Georgia.  Should be fully licensed to practice independently without supervision in the State of Georgia within two years of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and customer service skills
  • Exercise sound judgment and make responsible decisions regarding clinical treatment and planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred

  • Prior experience working in a university counseling center setting
  • Experience providing group and couples counseling
  • Experience and proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health disorders
  • Experience providing crisis services, and treating more severe mental health concerns
  • Prior clinical experience and expertise with a diverse clinical caseload
  • Experience providing outreach presentations on topics relevant to college students
  • Administrative experience in coordinating programs

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities are to provide individual, couples, crisis, and group counseling to students to include treatment plan development, case management, care coordination, client advocacy, crisis intervention and consultation, and administration and interpretation of assessment instruments. Maintaining adequate and appropriate documentation of counseling records.  Responsible for development, delivery, and assessment of new and existing outreach programs that promote and provide practical and effective education and skills for students through seminars, workshops, class presentations and other engagement events. Collaborating with other campus departments/offices, campus committees and student organizations to provide joint programming for students.  Providing training to appropriate campus organizations, faculty and staff regarding relevant mental health needs and concerns of college students.  Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director which may include serving in relief in the front office, campus training and possible outreach to community organizations and groups.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct clinical mental health counseling and associated support activities
  • Prevention, psychoeducation, and prevention programming
  • University collaboration and committee work
  • Administrative tasks
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Shift/Salary

Shift: M-F

 

Pay Grade: 19

 

Salary: $52,967/annually - $70,000/annually

 

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
