Salary: $70,000.00 - $73,000.00 Annually
Application Deadline: N/A
Staff Psychologist / Social Worker / Counselor

The Staff Therapist will provide direct clinical services to students, including initial assessment, short-term individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention, within a generalist and student-centered model of care. The person in this role will carry a caseload of approximately 20–24 clients per week, with flexibility based on clinical demand and center capacity. All staff members participate in clinical documentation, case consultation, and multidisciplinary team meetings, and may contribute to the UCC’s advanced doctoral practicum program by offering occasional didactic seminars or case presentations. Applicants who are independently licensed at the doctoral level (i.e., psychologists) and have been licensed for at least two years in Illinois will be expected to provide primary clinical supervision to up to one advanced doctoral practicum trainee.

Master’s-level clinicians are not expected to supervise but may offer secondary supervision depending on qualifications and interest. This role also involves occasional outreach programming for students, faculty, and staff, with a focus on student wellness and suicide prevention, as well as participation in annual campus events or trainings. Candidates must be independently licensed (or license-eligible) in the state of Illinois at the doctoral or master’s level by the time of hire.

For applicants at the doctoral level: at least two years of post-licensure experience is preferred to allow for primary supervision of advanced doctoral practicum trainees. However, newly licensed psychologists will be considered, with the expectation that they may assume supervisory responsibilities once they meet the two-year licensure requirement. For applicants at the master’s level: a minimum of two years of relevant post-master’s clinical experience is required; three or more years is preferred. For all applicants: 2-3 years of experience working within a university counseling setting is preferred.
