Psychological Counselors provide mental health counseling to students who are experiencing difficulties that interfere with their ability to succeed academically. Counselors provide consultative services to individuals and groups associated with Eastern Washington University around issues pertaining to the psychological well-being of members of the university community. Psychological Counselors are also responsible for facilitating crisis intervention and risk assessment services to students and the greater university community. A psychological counselor assumes responsibility for the development and coordination of services and initiatives in an area of student concern/need in consultation with the Clinical Director. A Psychological Counselor is expected to prepare and deliver educational materials and/or preventive services that address the developmental, interpersonal, and other psychological issues of particular relevance for a university population. Counselors are expected to fulfill and maintain professional licensure in the State of Washington. The salary for this position is $69,947 (minimum) up to $75,000. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 to 5, with occasional evening and weekend hours. This is not an on-call position. This position is typically a 12-month role; however, candidates may have the option to work an 11-month schedule, depending on organizational needs and discussions with the selected candidate.
