Student Counseling Services (SCS) at Connecticut College is pleased to announce a full-time (37.5 hours), academic year  (41 weeks) Associate Director position. This is a clinical and administrative position that requires psychological diagnosis and treatment of student patients. Position duties include consultative, clinical, crisis and outreach services to the campus community.  The Associate Director will provide supervision for the training program (practicum students)  and the Identity-Focused Counselors.  In addition to having a general expert knowledge of mental health and psychological functioning, this position will have experience with and proficiency in addressing issues and aspects of identity within the context of psychotherapy.  The Associate Director will report directly to the Director of Student Counseling and Health Services.

 

The Counselor must have completed an APA-approved doctoral degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and an APA-approved internship,  and be licensed in the state of CT. Experience working in a college counseling setting or with emerging adults is strongly preferred. Excellent professional, interpersonal, communication (both oral and written), and evidence-based counseling skills are required. Expertise in clinical treatment of neurodivergent students, trauma, or other college mental health issues is beneficial. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in one of the above mentioned focus areas and have an investment in developing further clinical expertise.
