Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 40 hours/week
Pay: $40,000 for year contract.

Position Summary:
The State Center Community College district is looking to fill 2-3 postdoc positions within 
psychological services. This is an APPIC accredited site for internship, in which postdocs benefit 
from excellent and comprehensive training and support.  

*Provide brief individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, walk in/triage, crisis 
intervention,
and case management services to students presenting with a broad range of mental health concerns.
•   Be an active member of the team of mental health professionals participating fully in: 
individual supervision, peer case consultation, clinical team meetings, and in-service/professional 
development training activities
•   Participate in outreach and consultation to the campus community (e.g., students, faculty and 
staff, administration) through workshops, class presentations, training, liaison work, and one- 
on-one phone or in person consultations.
•   Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences.
•   Functions and communicates effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, 
behaviors, orientations, identities and cultural backgrounds.
•   Seeks opportunities to gain experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and 
inclusive settings with a willingness to change for continual improvement

Required / Minimum Qualifications:
•Completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree in psychology (PsyD & PhD) by start date of 
postdoc (this includes internship and completion of dissertation)

The postdoc, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, provides culturally-competent mental 
health services to SCCCD students including: brief individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, 
psychological assessment, and walk in/triage and emergency (crisis) services. The postdoc will also
participate in outreach and consultation with students, faculty, and staff.

•Ability, with supervision, to provide a range of clinical services including initial assessment,individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and clinical case management.•Knowledge of laws and ethics that apply to psychologists and demonstrated adherence tothose standards.•Successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working in a university or college counseling center.•Skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the needs of students of color, students from indigenous communities, LGBTQIA students, international students, veterans, students from diverse religious affiliations, undocumented students, and first generation students.•Bilingual or multilingual counseling skills helpful but not required•Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with colleagues and clients•Effective time management skills especially as they pertain to completing record-keeping tasks in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.

•Time off during school breaks (Spring Break, Winter Break, etc.) and reduced Summer hours.•Time allowed for EPPP studying.
